Johns Hopkins

I don't know about you but we have been sucked into the new medical show on ABC called Hopkins. It is on Thursdays at 10 pm. I think it must be our experiences with Hopkins that draws me in. It is quite amazing actually. Last week they showed a lung transplant. I couldn't help but think of dear cyber-friends of mine, Nate and Tricia Lawrenson. Tricia just received a double lung transplant a few months ago and Nate has been blogging about their life at Duke. It was amazing to see a piece of what she has gone through and to stand in awe at the human body. Came from apes... yea right! We are intricately and uniquely formed by a loving Creator - in HIS image!

Next week it will center around a child with a heart condtion that needs an operation. I checked out the previews for the show and was glad to see
Dr. Vricella, who operated on Moses, featured on the show. This is an amazing man with incredible talent for operating on child sized hearts. We are eternally grateful for this man's wisdom and skill. Without him Moses wouldn't have had a chance. Even though the outcome was not what we had hoped for, Dr. Vricella and Hopkins as a special place in our hearts.

I'd encourage you to check it out! Might not be for young eyes but it gives a great perspective of Hopkins. We are blessed to have it in our backyard.
